Regular Chambers - Criminal list Scheduling - Notices and Cancellations - Scheduled Matters

Regular chambers sittings are held in Yellowknife as follows:

Criminal chambers	each Monday at 10:00 am in Courtroom 5 (1st floor)
Family chambers	each Thursday at 10:00 am in Courtroom 3 (3rd floor)
PAFVA (if required)	each Thursday at 2:00 pm in Courtroom 3 (3rd floor)
Civil chambers	each Friday at 10:00 am in Courtroom 3 (3rd floor)

Matters may be scheduled to regular chambers dates without prior approval of the Court (ie. returnable date on originating documents) but are limited to 30 minutes. For matters that are expected to take more than 30 minutes a special chambers date must be sought from the Office of the Clerk by following the procedure set out here .

Criminal List Scheduling is held in Yellowknife four times per year. List scheduling is for the purpose of setting trial and hearing dates only.

Notices and Cancellations:

The NWT Court registry office will be closed from December 22, 2011 to January 2, 2012. There will be no regular Criminal, Family, Civil or PAFVA/confirmation hearings held during that time period. If anyone has an emergency application on any of those dates please contact the Court Registry.

January 2, 2012	Criminal Chambers is cancelled
January 26, 2012	Family Chambers is cancelled
January 27, 2012	Civil Chambers is cancelled
